Our official uniform supplier is PMG schoolwear https://pmgschoolwear.co.uk/.  The shop is located on Hook parade in Chessington, KT9 1EL, you can order online or book an in-store appointment for buying uniform over the Summer holiday.  However, most of our uniform items, ie trousers, dresses, pinafores, polo shirts, PE joggers and t-shirts can be bought from general clothing retail shops and supermarkets, these are perfectly acceptable.  PMG schoolwear sells branded Coombe Hill Infants' uniform, however the only piece of branded uniform that we ask you to consider buying is the blue sweatshirt or cardigan with the Coombe Hill logo.

School uniform items

The boys and girls blue sweatshirts/cardigans with the school logo are part of our official school uniform, though we are happy for your child to wear royal blue non-branded sweatshirts/cardigans.  A white polo shirt with the school logo is also available from PMG schoolwear but plain polo shirts are perfectly acceptable. Grey trousers, shorts, skirts, summer dresses and grey pinafore dresses can be bought anywhere, as can grey tights and socks and black shoes (velcro and buckles only please, no laces).

• Logo (where possible) sweatshirt/cardigan in royal blue
• White or pale blue polo shirt
• Grey skirt/pinafore, trousers or shorts
• Summer dresses in a blue and white check can be worn in warmer weather
• White, grey or black socks/tights
• Black school shoes without laces - please buy Velcro fastening shoes only

We do not have specific winter/summer uniforms timings during the school year, children should wear uniform appropriate for the weather.

PE kit

We do not have an official PE kit, we just ask that children wear a plain t-shirt and dark shorts or jogging trousers.  Any colour is fine although a lot of families choose to purchase white and navy/blue PE kit which are our school colours.  Children need velcro trainers (no laces).  

There is a usually a large supply of good quality second hand uniform items available to browse in our school office entrance.  You are welcome to take items free of charge, however we do have a cash collection box for our partner school in Malawi if you would like to make a small donation, this will be very gratefully received.  Our PTA also hold second-hand uniform sales at welcome events and the school fairs during the year.

• Shorts or joggers/leggings
• Velcro trainers

Children should come to school in PE kit on their allotted PE days. 

Swimming kit

We are fortunate to have an outdoor heated swimming pool on our school site and during the Summer term our children swim weekly (Reception) or twice weekly (Years 1 and 2).  For the Summer term the children will need a swim kit:

• A drawstring bag
• Fitted swim trunks for the boys
• A one piece costume for the girls
• A towel
• Goggles (only if your chid is used to wearing them, please do not supply them if not)

All items of swimming kit must be clearly named.

Jewellery 

Jewellery is the responsibility of the pupil and not the school.  We do not encourage your children to wear jewellery to school as items can easily be lost or damaged, and items will not be refunded. 

School bag 

The school will provide each child with a named blue Coombe Hill school bag on their first day with us.  Should you require a replacement for this, they are available from the school office for £10.

Hairstyles and accessories

Pupils with long hair must ensure that this is tied up at all times with a plain hair accessory.   We ask this so as to prevent your child's hair becoming tangled and also to help prevent the transmission of head lice which is a common condition amongst young children.   Children should wear plain hair bands and hair grips where necessary.

Make up and Nail Varnish

No make up or nail varnish should be worn. 

Adverse weather 

All pupils are required to wear weather-appropriate clothing such as a warm waterproof coat in winter, and a sun hat in the summer. Gloves, scarves, wellington boots etc can be worn and removed in the classroom.

Labelling 

ALL pupils’ clothing and footwear must be clearly labelled with their first name and surname - including water bottles, shoes, hats, scarves and gloves.  Our lost property box is unfortunately always full of misplaced, unnamed items that, with 270  children wearing the same clothing, we have no way of returning to their owner.  Misplaced school uniform items are incorporated into our second uniform supply and non-uniform items are donated to charity.  Our lost property box is located in the year 1 playground, please check this for missing items.

Sensory issues
