The Owls visited us on Wednesday 24th April and we were introduced to 5 different types of owls - a barn owl, an African owl, an Indian owl, a Scot owl and an Eagle owl.  Ask your child about some of the amazing facts we learned, for example;

• owls use their talons and curved beaks to hunt for their prey

• owls have amazing hearing and can find a mouse by listening for its heartbeat

• owls fly low, slowly and silently

• owls swallow their food whole (when you are in the park, look out for owl pellets 

Olivia and Erica reminded us to look after wildlife in our area by picking up litter so that birds don’t eat it - this could kill them.
