I am delighted to welcome you to Coombe Hill Infants’ School. We hope that the following guide will be useful for preparing your child to join us, it includes all the key information.
Our aim is to provide a learning environment that ensures success by offering a safe, caring, supportive and inclusive school in which all children can flourish and grow.
Our dedicated staff work passionately to ensure each pupil is safe and has the opportunity to reach their full potential.
We value our home-school links and we will work in close partnership with you.
We operate an Open Door policy so please do contact us if you have any questions or concerns—no matter how small.

RECEPTION 2024/25 - Induction Dates
Your child's class and new teacher
We will be letting you know about your child's new class and teacher in June in time for the transition/induction events.
Welcome Meeting for new Reception parents in our school hall
Tuesday 18 June 2024 - from 6.30 - 7.30pm
Please come along to meet the Reception teachers, our Headteacher Mrs Berry, our Deputy Headteacher Mrs Jakob and SENCO/Inclusion Manager Mrs Heard. You will be given lots of information about the school and it will be an opportunity for you to ask us questions. We hope to see everyone there.
Coombe Hill Schools Summer Fair
Saturday 22 June 2024 - 12 noon to 3.30pm
Held together with the Junior school across our school site, you are warmly invited to come along for a family afternoon out at our Summer Fair.
Parent/Teacher meetings
Monday 24 June or Tuesday 25 June 2024 - 3.30 - 6pm
A ten minute meeting with your child's new teacher to share information about your child which will help us to plan for their arrival. Booking sheets will be sent out electronically nearer the time.
Stay and Play sessions
Wednesday 3 July 2024 - either 9.30-10.15am or 10.30-11.15am
Your child will spend 45 minutes exploring their new classroom and getting to know their teacher and teaching assistant as well as some of their new classmates. We encourage you to leave your child on their own for this session while you have the chance to meet other parents, buy second hand uniform and have a drink in our ICT suite.
SEPTEMBER 2024
(Wednesday 4 September 2024 - Year 1 and 2 children start the Autumn term)
Half day settling sessions
Thursday 5 September and Friday 6 September 2024 - either 9.00 - 11.30am or 12.30 - 3pm
Your children will be invited to attend either the morning or afternoon session, in school uniform. They will not have lunch at school.
If your child is invited to attend the morning session on the Thursday they will be invited to the afternoon session on the Friday, and vice versa.
Monday 9 September - 8.40am - Reception classroom doors open
All Reception children start school full time, afternoon collection is at 3.05pm for Reception children.
From Monday 16 September - Reception children start Connections wraparound care (please refer to the information sent to our new Reception parents and carers about Connections club)
